Automechanika 2026: DAT puts AI features and Big Data front and centre

• SilverDAT 3 receives a comprehensive AI upgrade
• New Big Data product range launched: vehicle values, repair cost trends, CO2-emissions from repairs and fleets, and car running costs
• New telematics data product: SilverDAT Connect links dynamic and static vehicle data for fleet operators and fleet managers for the first time ever

• DAT’s core product, SilverDAT 3, is receiving a comprehensive AI upgrade. This means that, in addition to the core functions (vehicle identification, vehicle valuation and repair cost calculation), a range of new, optional functionalities based on artificial intelligence are being introduced. These include automatic image recognition during damage assessment, which identifies visible damage to vehicle components. A similar capability is available using voice recognition, where the user can describe the damage they identify as they walk around the vehicle, speaking directly into their smartphone. AI then automatically converts this voice recording into a repair cost calculation. As a third AI-based feature, a repair cost calculation can automatically suggest additional complementary parts, drawing on repair logic and the collective intelligence of other SilverDAT users. So the previously standalone products FastTrackAI® and Silvie, along with the new Parts Completion Service feature, are now seamlessly integrated into SilverDAT 3 and available to users as optional add-ons.
• Also new is a range of dashboard products based on very large volumes of data (Big Data). At their core, each of these dashboard products brings together different types of information, presented in clear, visual formats. These include new and used vehicle value trends and forecasts, repair cost developments, the calculation of CO2 emissions from repairs (specifically for distinguishing between replacement and repair), and – in the near future – analysis of car running costs. The new SilverDAT dashboard products are the Vehicle Value Tracker, the Repair Cost Tracker, the Green Repair Tracker, the Emission Tracker and the TCO Tracker. They serve a valuable purpose for the automotive industry by making large volumes of data tangible and accessible.
• For the first time ever, DAT is making telematics data (known as connected car data) available for fleet management purposes through a brand-new product. SilverDAT Connect is aimed at fleet managers and those responsible for fleet operations. The application combines telematics data with information from the DAT data universe in a single, integrated solution. At the touch of a button, and without the need for any additional hardware such as dongles or similar equipment, fleet managers can view GPS location data, battery charge or fuel tank levels, mileage readings, service requirements, fault status indicators, CO2 emissions and much more besides for all of their vehicles. This data can also be automatically linked to vehicle values, for example, opening up brand-new possibilities for managing company car fleets, rental fleets and car subscription vehicles.
• At the start of Automechanika Frankfurt 2026, DAT will be further expanding the range of solutions on offer to include the valuation of used electrified vehicles. SilverDAT 3 users will be able to factor in the drive battery’s state of health (SoH) as a value-influencing factor – not only for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) as before, but now for plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) too. The percentage SoH value from any provider currently operating on the market can be entered directly into the SilverDAT vehicle valuation, which will then automatically calculate the impact that the battery health has on the vehicle’s value as an amount in euros.
• As part of the continuous improvement process, a large number of additional features have been integrated into the core product SilverDAT 3. These include vehicle registration (i-Kfz), scanning data from the vehicle registration document with a scanner, reading information from diagnostic tools into a repair cost calculation, a revised version of the DAT Eurolack paint system and the integration of RepairPedia with access to OE repair manuals. Visitors to the DAT booth will be able to find out more about these and other features.
• Another highlight from DAT at Automechanika 2026 is the focus on data for historic vehicles. Access to valuation data for vehicles that are more than 20 years old has been available within the application for automotive experts since the middle of 2026. Information on parts availability for classic and modern classic cars will also become accessible to workshops using SilverDAT from the start of Automechanika 2026. Under the umbrella term ‘parts optimisation’, parts information is also available for components that are not sourced from the vehicle manufacturer – either because existing OEMs are no longer producing older parts, or because the vehicles in question belong to vehicle makes that have been discontinued.

DAT’s location at Automechanika 2026 is booth C25 in Hall 11.0. Right at the next booth is Zukunftswerkstatt 4.0, which DAT holds a stake in. Together with this innovation hub and DAT’s further investments and subsidiaries – including Promotor XD, FairGarage, FabuCar and RepairPedia – DAT’s complete presence at Automechanika is represented in a single location.

As in previous years, the DAT booth will not only be a port of call for interested visitors and coffee-loving customers; it will once again serve as the meeting point for all automotive trade apprentices. For more than 20 years, DAT has been successfully inviting school classes focusing on automotive-related topics from across Germany to the Frankfurt trade fair, where they attend presentations on DAT products. DAT will be holding further activities at the Body & Paint workshops in Hall 11.0 and in the B2B Classic Car Area at booth B43 in Hall 11.1. Representatives of DAT will also be present at the joint booth of the automotive trade associations ZDK (the German Federation for Motor Trades and Repairs) and BiV (the Federal Guild Association of the Motor Vehicle Trade).
